The new watches that make your eyes pop

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Limited Edition Monaco watch

The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is a series of motor racing competitions based on historic motor sports. The event is usually held every two years before the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Tag Heuer has created a special limited edition timepiece in recognition of this prestigious event and the Monaco collection. This new model is powered by the Calibre Heuer 02 movement – the first ever limited series Monaco Heuer 02.

TAG Heuer has released many versions of the Monaco over the years – its square case, its association with Steve McQueen and its long history of racing make it one of only a few truly iconic watches, and the red and white paintwork common on historic racing cars inspired the dial of the new Monaco, which also happens to be the colours of the Monaco-style badge. Number CBL2114.FC6486, priced at CHF 6700.

Zenith Defy El Primero 21 Ultraviolet

The colour violet displays a sense of boldness, confidence and whimsy in everything from sports cars to tailored clothing. Yet purple is still very rare in watchmaking, particularly in men’s watches.

In 2020 Zenith made a world first in watchmaking with an opulent, violet-coloured automatic chronograph movement. Zenith chose its revolutionary 1/100th of a second El Primero 21 chronograph movement, beating at an incredible 50 Hz, as the canvas for this visually and mechanically stunning creation.

At first glance the violet element may seem large, but the colour is not actually excessive. It is a deep purple which is essentially a two-tone watch in violet and dark grey. The use of a microblasted titanium case helps to reduce the visual prominence of the watch. ref .97.9001.9004 / 80.R922 is priced at CHF 13,400 / HK$103,000.

Longines “TUXEDO” Chronograph

This vintage Longines chronograph is based on the black and white style of the legendary Longines 13ZN chronograph from 1943, which we all know is considered by collectors to be one of Longines’ finest chronograph movements.

The dial of the Tuxedo Chronograph is relatively simple, with a contrast between the opaque silver and black hour circle, complemented by a blue tint to the chronograph hands. The wide silver bezel features a slim, ornate tachymeter scale in dark blue, which matches perfectly with the blue steel hands and chronograph seconds hand on the two sub-dials. Sticking with the two-eye chronograph layout, this is another triumph for Longines. Ref. L2.830.4.93.0, priced at US$3,000.

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Deep Submariner MOKARRAN Limited Edition

The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Deep Submariner MOKARRAN Limited Edition brings a new colour to the collection: a green dial and a green ceramic bezel. The green dial with its frosted green ceramic bezel and contrasting liquid metal divisions is fitted with a Blancpain black NATO strap that subtly complements the dark ceramic look of the case. the luminous dot index at 12 o’clock is a faithful reproduction of the hands used in the original Fifty Fathoms watches of the 1950s. Water-resistant to 300 metres, the 43.6 mm diameter case is made of black ceramic with sloping lugs and satin-brushed surfaces.

This watch is equipped with the Blancpain self-winding calibre 1318, a robust movement with 204 parts, 35 diamonds and a high chronograph function. Its three tandem-coupled barrels provide an impressive five-day power reserve. Its karat gold oscillating weight is NAC-coated and engraved with a statue of the hammerhead shark Sphyrna mokarran.

Rolex Submariner Blue Face Oyster Perpetual 126000

No one expected the new Oyster Perpetual to be a hit in 2020 – not even Rolex internally, I’m afraid. Although the biggest news about the new Rolex in 2020 was undoubtedly the Submariner series update, it was actually a smooth iteration that was expected, and the look was, well, uneventful; instead, it was the supporting cast of previous years that drew the eye. At first I thought I could just buy it, but who knew it would now come with a Tudor watch.

In 2020, Rolex will introduce two new upgrades to the collection: the universal 36mm and the slightly bolder 41mm,replica rolex watches with dials painted in vibrant and soulful shades of green, yellow, candy pink, coral red and turquoise blue surfaces. These new dials are absolutely stunning and reminiscent of the famous ‘Stella’ vintage Rolex dials. My favourite of these is the 36mm Turquoise Blue Oyster Perpetual 126000.

Of the several dial colours, candy pink is a girl’s preserve, while the positive green, orange and coral red are dazzling, not in the sense that they don’t look bad, but in the sense that they test the wearer’s ability to match them. . Basically anyone can wear it, whether in a suit or a sports suit, turquoise blue will blend in.

replica Vacheron Constantin Perpetual Calendar with Openworking

The new Vacheron Constantin models for 2020 come in a variety of styles, from enamelled Attic Craftsman watches to super-complication models and high jewellery watches, but it is the red gold version of the Perpetual Calendar with Openworked Skeleton that is universally acknowledged as the most beautiful – a classic ultra-thin Perpetual Calendar with a magnificent inner workings. Technically similar to the original 2016 version, this new Grande Complication Skeleton Perpetual Calendar uses the same basic movement, the same silhouette and general layout. However, the skeleton technique is now applied for the first time to the Admiralty collection, retaining its dynamic design while highlighting the haute horlogerie values beneath the sapphire dial.

The 1120 QP is now fully skeletonised as the 1120 QP SQ calibre, the skeletonisation of which is an extremely complex task in itself: skeletonising the skeleton of its movement plates without compromising its reliability is a combination of highly refined techniques that only a very few watchmakers can master. all the components of the 1120 QPSQ calibre are skeletonised, finished and decorated to highlight the functional beauty of the movement The finishing is done entirely by hand. Polishing is done entirely by hand. The Ref. 4300V / 120R-B547 is priced at €130,000.

OMEGA Speedmaster Snoopy III

The 50th anniversary edition of OMEGA’s Speedmaster “Snoopy Award” is probably the most exciting new model of 2020; essentially, it is based on the classic iconic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, but most of the elements have been enhanced with new materials, replica rolex colours and special features. The new model is essentially based on the iconic Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch, but most of the elements have been updated with new materials, new colours and special features to make this model unique in the collection.

The Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award 50th Anniversary dial is made of sterling silver and laser engraved to reveal its face. It features blue PVD-coated hour markers and hands, as well as the blue Omega logo. Snoopy plays a pivotal role in the timepiece, first appearing on the blue dial at 9 o’clock as a silver medallion in relief. Dressed in the famous space suit, it has the same shape as the silver pin presented to the winner by the NASA astronauts.

The new movement now has a playful kinetic puppet mechanism on the side of the caseback, and as soon as the chronograph function is activated, Snoopy sits on his little rocket and turns to Little Earth in 14 seconds. A few moments later he will disappear behind the surface of the moon again. And the blue Earth will always be turning too – it is connected to the running seconds gear for one revolution in 60 seconds.
